Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to the 7th International Symposium on Biological Control of Arthropods (ISBCA7), taking place from Monday, 26 October to Friday, 30 October 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. The symposium will be co-hosted by CAB International (CABI) and the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) at the KALRO Conference Centre, located at their headquarters in Loresho, Kaptagat Road.

We are pleased to announce strong global engagement, with 16 session and panel proposals submitted by colleagues worldwide. These include a diverse range of scientific topics and discussion themes, supported by dedicated organizers and contributors.

All accepted session topics are now available online, please explore them under the icon Sessions. We sincerely thank the international community for the enthusiasm and commitment that are helping shape an exciting and impactful ISBCA7 programme.

ISBCA aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in biological control to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss the latest developments in the field. This includes the various approaches to biological control, e.g. conservation, augmentation, and importation of natural enemy species for the control of arthropod targets. It also encompasses various transversal issues, including the uptake of biological control and socio-economic impacts. We particularly encourage postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers to contribute and present their work.

A central goal of ISBCA7 is to foster a diverse and inclusive international community. After successful meetings in the Americas, Europe, Australasia, and Asia, we are especially proud to host the symposium for the first time in continental Africa. This milestone creates a valuable opportunity to: (1) Strengthen participation from across Africa, (2) Engage colleagues who may not have previously been able to attend and (3) Build new collaborations and expand professional networks globally.

All submissions must be in English and completed via the online system.

Important notes:

• Registration is required before submitting an abstract
• All speakers and session chairs must register and pay the registration fee

We strongly encourage early submission to secure your place.

Reduced Fees & Support

To promote broad participation, a limited number of reduced-fee places are available:

• 60% fee reduction for scientists from national agricultural research organizations and universities in low and lower-middle income African countries, as well as international students
• 80% fee reduction for students from low and lower-middle income African countries
